Gamma Knife....again |
I underwent a repeat round with the Gamma Knife procedure on
Jan. 17th, 2005 (my husbands birthday). The morning MRI revealed
a total of 11 tumors, from the original 4 they told me about
a few weeks ago. There was one seen in my liver, and one in
a lymph gland. The Gamma Knife team of Dr.
Dacey and Dr.
Simpson were able to treat 6 of the tumors with the Gamma
Knife, the remaining 5 tumors are not treated yet. They want
me back in 4 months, so we'll see what happens then. In the
meantime, I met with my oncologist Dr.
Govindan. He started me on a new medicine just out of clinical
trials called Tarceva.
The research shows some promise, so that's hopeful. I just started
it, so they'll be following my progress with that.
In the meantime, I'm a busy girl, so I'll say goodbye for now!
